Cristale, Caleb & Casen: OpLove Family Shoot

August 19th, 2011

I love working with families! I did something I have never done in this shoot, which was cut it early because I had everything I needed! Sometimes working with kids can be a little nerve-wracking, but Casen was an absolute dream!

“Who’s adorable? THIS GUY!”
I never thought I’d see a Marine go down a slide ;)

The day of the shoot was Cristale + Caleb’s second anniversary! So I had to get a shot of their rings :)

One more of the cutie pie!

OpLove Love

July 19th, 2011

What photographer doesn’t love hearing that their work is enjoyed? I love getting comments back from my clients after I post blog previews! Getting this feedback from Olivia’s husband, though, felt even better. As part of the OpLove program, in an “Already Gone” session, an album of images is sent directly to the deployed member overseas. Olivia’s husband just received his album and Olivia sent me this sweet note:

“I just wanted to let you know that my husband recieved the photo album from you this week. He was so happy to get the pictures! He told me he looks at them every night before he sleeps and shows them off every chance he gets! It really meant alot to him. I wanted to say thank you again and I hope you know that what you do is greatly appreciated! :)”

This is the album I sent to him:

It’s great to be part of an organization that provides such a morale-booster to men and women serving overseas! You can learn more about OpLove here.

Besides the fact that the service members are in dangerous combat situations, we forget they don’t have create comforts like the internet, and reaching out to their families is not as easy as sending an email or text message.  Having a physical album with pictures of their loved ones can be a real morale booster.

Below are pictures of a typical album I will send to a service member. It’s a proof book, which means the album is light and compact, and can fit lots of images! It’s also a pretty sturdy book as well.

Frosted cover:

Just, uh, ignore my fingerprints there on the back.

I sent this album to Olivia’s husband last week.  I hope these images bring him some happiness during his deployment!

OpLove Already Deployed Shoot: Olivia & Faith

May 23rd, 2011

The first thing Olivia said to me when we met at Woodfield Park in Aliso Viejo was, “Faith just had her nap and feeding.” That was entirely evident by the sweet, gummy smiles Faith was sending my way! Olivia also brought along her mother to act as designated baby entertainer throughout the shoot, and she [...]

Olivia also brought along her mother to act as designated baby entertainer throughout the shoot, and she did a FABULOUS job!

Olivia’s husband is currently deployed, and should be returning in September. I was thrilled to be able to take these pictures! Olivia’s also due with another little one (a brother for Faith!) in August :)

Isn’t she darling?

Olivia’s glowing, huh? Okay, maybe that has something to do with the backlighting, but I still say she looks gorgeous!

I don’t think I could EVER say no to these eyes!

I have to end the post with this sweet photo. Thank you for a wonderful shoot!

I am extremely excited to announce I am now a photographer with Operation: Love Reunited! Operation: Love Reunited is a federal non-profit organization that provides free sessions and albums to deploying, deployed, or returning military families. Military families are eligible for two sessions per year per deployment, and are reserved for service members going to and returning from actual combat deployment.

I offer these options to military families at no cost:

  • A patriotic session pre-deployment
  • A 4×6 album of images to be mailed to the deployed service member
  • Photography of the deployed service member’s homecoming with disc of high-resolution images

I also offer a military discount for portrait photography products and services beyond what is outlined above. Please contact me for wedding quotes.

Interested parties can find their closest photographer here.

I am very proud to be part of this organization! Our service members and their families give up so much to protect and serve our country. I am thrilled to be able to give back in some small way!
