It’s funny how fast time flies. Cindy + Keith booked me for their wedding last September, and I could not have been more excited to see the both of them on their wedding day. It took place at the beautiful Aliso Viejo Country Club, and every detail was attended to by Cindy + Keith with care. Although the wedding day can be so busy it can be difficult for the bride and groom to join the festivities, Cindy + Keith were relaxed and happy on the day, enjoying family and friends and all the hard work that went into making the day so perfect. Enjoy!

Ceremony and reception: Aliso Viejo Country Club
Coordinator: J Bird Events
Hair and makeup: Elizabeth Hickman
Floral and decor: BG Visual Designs
Photobooth: Party Time Photobooth
DJ: The Events Consultant
Cake: French’s Bakery

We started off the day getting ready at The Renaissance hotel in Aliso Viejo. I was VERY excited to walk in and see Cindy’s stunning dress already hanging in the window!

A sweet moment between Cindy and her mom :)

Helloooooo, gorgeous! This waterfall structure at the hotel is so cool, and a great backdrop for portraits!

The first look took place at the country club. I just love having a first look, the moment where the bride and groom see each other for the first time is so sweet!

Their outdoor ceremony was beautiful!

A few more portraits on the grounds…

Absolutely beautiful reception details!

I was completely in awe of this cake!

A sweet first dance as husband and wife…

I love a wedding where guests really get on the floor and show their moves. I would say everyone had a fantastic time here :)

Congratulations, Cindy + Keith!

Morgan + Kevin’s wedding was the first of the season, and what a beautiful day it was! The week leading up to the big day was stormy, but Saturday ended up being gorgeous. They were surrounded by loving family and friends that showed their support and care for the couple, and ended the day with a reception full of fun! Enjoy!

Ceremony: Presbyterian Church of the Master
Reception: Dove Canyon Country Club
DJ: O’Malley DJ Company
Florist: Sweet Blossom Designs

Morgan was a little excited to be getting ready for her wedding day!

Morgan waited in the bridal suite so her dad could see her for the first time. It was an incredibly touching moment! Here they are practicing lifting the veil at the altar.

I just love the expressions in this photo as Morgan sees Kevin for the first time and her dad’s pride at walking his beautiful daughter down the aisle!

We found a few minutes after the family formals to get some pictures of the new husband and wife!

At Dove Canyon, we were able to work with the bridal party for a few minutes. This is my largest bridal party to date and by far, the most fun!

A few more portraits of the stunning bride and groom…

On to the reception!

Morgan and her dad had an INCREDIBLE choreographed first dance! The crowd was going wild!

Congratulations, Morgan + Kevin!

Vanessa + David: Pomona Wedding

January 6th, 2012

When Vanessa contacted me about a New Year’s Eve wedding, I couldn’t have been more excited! If you’re thinking about what type of holiday is most fitting for a wedding, doesn’t New Year’s Eve make sense? A new beginning as husband and wife, and in Vanessa + David’s case, a new family. These two were so much fun to work with at the engagement session that I knew their wedding day would be just as fantastic. And obviously I wasn’t the only one who knew this – their wedding was packed with family and friends who couldn’t wait to celebrate with them!

I started with Vanessa as she got ready with her family in the suite.

Vanessa + David chose to have a first look before their ceremony.  We whisked around the Pomona Sheraton. This can be my favorite part of the day because often it’s the only time the bride and groom get alone (well, besides me)!

On to the ceremony! The ceremony was short but incredibly emotional and sweet. Vanessa and her father are radiating happiness – love this image!

Their cake was adorable! I loved the topper.

A picture of their first dance:

Vanessa and her dad had an incredible dance number! I’m not sure what dance they were doing, but they were amazing! I loved the moment afterwards when he hugged her.

You KNOW New Year’s Eve is a time to party! The guests had a great time :)

Congratulations, Vanessa + David!

Cristie + Jeff: Buena Park Wedding

October 21st, 2011

If I could think of one word to describe Cristie + Jeff’s wedding day, it would be genuine. It was evident a lot of thoughtful planning went into making the day a reflection of not only their love, but the family and friends that came together to take part in the celebration. They were both [...]

They were both relaxed and happy throughout the day, and I was honored to be there to capture the day’s events. Congratulations, Cristie + Jeff!

Every bride should sparkle on her wedding day :)

If there was a contest for best ring holder, Cristie + Jeff would win. Hands down. (Ha!)

Jeff waiting to see Cristie…

The ceremony was beautiful and very personal to Cristie + Jeff and their family coming together.

Love the expressions in this photo :)

The reception was a great time! First dance:

Reception & ceremony location: Aliso Creek Inn
Officiant: SoCal Wedding Guy
Hair & makeup: SoCal Airbrush Makeup
Flowers: Florals by Jenny
DJ: Atmosphere Entertainment
Videographer: A Single Glance

Tiffany’s dress was GORGEOUS – it was the first one she tried on, too!

Tiffany’s grandmother seeing her for the first time:

One of my biggest bridal tips: make sure you are getting ready in a window-lit room! It provides the prettiest light :)

Tiffany + Eddie chose to see each other before the ceremony so they could spend cocktail hour with their guests. Eddie’s look here says it all!

These little guys were the cutest!

Husband and wife!

The reception details were TO DIE FOR! The first dance!

Tiffany + Eddie’s family and friends know how to have a good time!

Congratulations, Tiffany + Eddie!

Sarah + Brian: Balboa Island Trash the Dress Session

August 29th, 2011

It’s interesting how “trash the dress” has evolved. I think when a lot of people hear the phrase, literally trashing the dress comes to mind, which could mean a lot of things.  Nowadays, though, it’s not about destruction (and, having my own wedding dress in my closet, I’m not sure I’d have the heart to [...]

It’s interesting how “trash the dress” has evolved. I think when a lot of people hear the phrase, literally trashing the dress comes to mind, which could mean a lot of things.  Nowadays, though, it’s not about destruction (and, having my own wedding dress in my closet, I’m not sure I’d have the heart to photograph that!). It’s more about wearing your dress without restrictions; without having to worry about getting to a reception or if walking along the beach is going to ruin the hem for the first dance.

Luckily, Sarah + Brian feel the same way about trash the dress sessions! I first met this awesome couple when I was getting my business off the ground, and it was so very gratifying to see them again! They were recently married in Cleveland and I can’t tell you how excited I was when Sarah contacted me about a post-wedding session. Besides all the fun we had at Balboa Island, I just love that these pictures are such a representation of THEM! They recently moved to the area and what better background for pictures than your own neighborhood? Granted, not everyone’s neighborhood is quite so cool as Newport Beach :)

Thanks for an amazing session, Sarah + Brian!

How cool are these shoes? A friend of Sarah + Brian had them custom-made as a wedding gift!

You really can’t live on Balboa Island without a beach cruiser…

They see me rollin’…they hatin’…

What a pleasure it was to shoot alongside Melissa Biador Photography! I second shot Sophy + Adam’s wedding with Melissa and had a wonderful time in the process. I  love weddings so much because of the emotion that radiates from the couple and their loved ones throughout the day, and Sophy + Adam were no different. Many thanks to Melissa to bringing me along! Her coverage of the event can be found here.

I loved the junior bridesmaids’ shoes!

Getting boutonniered up…

One of my FAVORITE FAVORITE FAVORITE pictures to take at a wedding is turning around to capture the groom’s face right as the bride starts to walk down the aisle. All of the emotion of the day is right there!

Right after the ceremony :)

Some pretty reception details (and check out the little girl’s face looking at the cake)!

I love the first dances! You can tell how much fun Sophy and her dad have together :)

Adam and his mom.  They’re so sweet.

Congratulations Sophy + Adam!

Boy oh boy oh boy! Was I EVER excited about this shoot and I’ve been chomping at the bit to post the photos :) Patricia + Roger were married in Cabo San Lucas in May, so this shoot was a great opportunity to get bride + groom portraits without the pressure of getting to the reception! As a photographer, I couldn’t be more excited to have this time! Often on the wedding day, you may plan for a half an hour or more, but only be left with 15 minutes as the schedule changes throughout the day.

Patricia + Roger were so much fun! They were very relaxed throughout the shoot, and they had that apparent newlywed glow ;) We shot these in downtown Santa Ana. I just love shooting in city settings!

I love the laughter in this one :)

I had to get this picture – cool socks and cool shoes! What’s not to like?

Patricia’s grandmother was unable to come to the wedding in Cabo, but she came out to Santa Ana just to get some pictures with the newlyweds! Here is Patricia and her grandmother :)

I love parking garages :)

I didn’t notice the wording when I was taking this picture…I do think it’s pretty funny, though ;)
