OpLove FAQs
Who is eligible for OpLove photography?
Military families with spouses deploying to combat areas are eligible for the program. As the program is very popular, I require a copy of the orders to confirm eligibility before booking any sessions.
What is included?
There are 2 different types of sessions: pre-deployment and already gone, which is photos taken without the deployed member. An album is created (see an example here) and sent directly to the deployed service member. Prints and hi-res files are not included with the session, but a disc of images is available for purchase at a discount price.
Sessions should have a patriotic theme. If the deployed member is present, he or she should wear a uniform of some type. Sessions taking place without the deployed member should bring items of significance to the shoot such as dog tags, hats, combat boots, flags, etc.
Homecomings are also included in OpLove offerings but I am not currently taking on any homecoming assignments.
Families are eligible for two OpLove sessions per year. For instance, a family could have a pre-deployment session as well as homecoming coverage.
What needs to be provided to the photographer?
Aside from the orders, I also need two forms completed. One is agreeing to the OpLove policies, and the second is a model release so I can post your photos on my blog and Facebook (if desired).
How can I book?
Please reach out to me at info@courtney-mcmanaway.com to determine if you are eligible. We can then discuss setting up a time and date for your session. My sessions take place on weekends and I will try to find a convenient location in Orange County. I typically shoot outdoors in park settings.
Please email me if you have any questions!
