Wedding FAQs

What camera gear do you use for your work?
I am a Canon shooter!  I shoot with professional Canon gear. My main body is a Canon 7D. My lenses include 24mm f/1.4L, 50mm f/1.2L, 100mm f/2.8L and 70-200mm f/2.8L. I also have a Canon Speedlight 580 EXII external flash. As a wedding is a once-in-a-lifetime event, I carry backups on me at all times.

What comes with a wedding package?
I currently have one 9 hour package which includes a second shooter and a disc of high resolution images from your day.  Previously my packages were structured from 6-9 hours, and I found it was difficult to fit everything the bride and groom wanted photographed within that time frame. Having 9 hours of coverage simplifies the decision-making for my brides and grooms and makes timeline planning that much easier! Albums and engagement sessions are available a la carte.

Can we meet you before we book?
Absolutely! In fact, I highly recommend you meet with ANY photographer you are considering booking. I will be “tailing” you your entire wedding day, so it’s always good to meet and ensure we’re a good fit. I also love the opportunity to get to know potential clients and hear about how they met, and were engaged, and their wedding day plans!

How do we book you?
50% of your package is due along with a signed agreement. A date is only booked when I receive, and accept, these two items. The balance is due one month before your wedding date.

How long does it take to get wedding photos back?
I  blog a wedding preview within two weeks, and mail out the disc of images within 8 weeks, if a coverage-only package is selected. If a wedding album is selected, I will send the disc with the album, which takes approximately 8 – 12 weeks. All photos from the blog are also uploaded to Facebook for sharing and tagging!

How many photos will I receive?
About 50 photos per hour of shooting. I carefully cull all my photos so you receive the best pictures. Additionally, all photos delivered to the bride and groom go through basic editing, which includes color correction, exposure correction, and sharpness adjustment. All photos you receive will be ready to print, and come with a print release!

How do we confirm all of our wedding information prior to the wedding?
The less confusion on your wedding day, the better! I send my couples a pre-wedding questionnaire a month before the wedding, which outlines all of the information I’ll need so your day runs smoothly.  We go over areas like your timeline, where you will be getting ready, a list of family photos, and ceremony and reception events. I am always available to help plan your timeline or answer any questions about coverage on the big day!

Do you work off of a shot list?
I am always willing to shoot a few special requests, but in general, I do not work off a long shot list. Each wedding is so different, and other than the formal photos, bridal party photos, and bride and groom portraits, much of my photography is capturing the wedding day from a photojournalistic perspective. Working off an extensive shot list can often mean missing moments, which in my opinion, are the most important captures of the day!
