Wedding FAQs

What camera gear do you use for your work?
I am a Canon shooter!  I shoot with professional Canon gear. My main body is a Canon 7D. My lenses include 24mm f/1.4L, 50mm f/1.4, 100mm f/2.8L and 70-200mm f/2.8L. I also have a Canon Speedlight 580 EXII external flash. As a wedding is a once-in-a-lifetime event, I carry backups on me at all times.

What comes with a wedding package?
I have a few different packages meant to suit a variety of needs. Options range from coverage-only options to packages that include an album and engagement session. A la carte pricing is also available. All packages come with a disc of hi-res images.

How many hours do you recommend for wedding coverage?
I’ve covered weddings from 5 – 9 hours. The answer is usually “it depends!” Couples that want coverage prior to the wedding ceremony, taking pictures such as first look, family photos, and bridal photos usually need up to 4 hours before the ceremony, as I typically start coverage as the bride is in the final stages of hair and makeup.  Couples not having a first look need to make sure there is ample time after the ceremony for family photos, bridal photos, and bridal portraits as well. I recommend ending coverage about an hour after all reception events are completed. Please see Creating a Timeline for more information.

Can we meet you before we book?
Absolutely! In fact, I highly recommend you meet with ANY photographer you are considering booking. I will be “tailing” you your entire wedding day, so it’s always good to meet and ensure we’re a good fit. I also love the opportunity to get to know potential clients and hear about how they met, and were engaged, and their wedding day plans.

How do we book you?
50% off your total package is due at time of booking as a non-refundable retainer, as well as your executed agreement. The remaining 50% is due one month before your wedding.

How long does it take to get wedding photos back?
I typically blog a wedding preview within two weeks, and mail out the disc of images within 6 weeks, if a coverage-only package is selected. If a wedding album is selected, I will send the disc with the album, which takes approximately 8 – 12 weeks. All photos from the blog are also uploaded to Facebook.

Who will be photographing my wedding?
I will! A second shooter is available at an additional charge.

How do we confirm all of our wedding information prior to the wedding?
The less confusion on your wedding day, the better! I schedule a pre-wedding call or meeting with all of my brides, approximately two weeks to one month before your wedding. The information I collect on this day is critical to ensure I don’t bug you too much on the big day :) The information we discuss includes areas where the bride and groom are getting ready, timeline of the day, list of family formals to be taken, when the bride and groom will be available for portraits, emergency numbers, etc.
