Sallie + Stephen: Rustic Orange Wedding

My favorite thing about shooting weddings is that no two weddings are alike. Even when shooting at the same location, each wedding reveals its own traditions and relationships. Each wedding has its own personality, and Sallie + Stephen’s rustic Orange wedding, at the Chapel of Orange, is no exception! Throughout the day there were many elements that made their wedding day unique and memorable!

The day started with Sallie getting ready with her bridesmaids at the Chapel of Orange’s bridal suite.

Can you say radiant??? :)cmp_0261cmp_0258cmp_0263

I love these moments between mom and daughter :)

Stephen was getting ready on the other side of the Chapel of Orange.

The couple took a few minutes before the ceremony to pray without seeing each other.

On to the ceremony! It was obvious a lot of planning went into Sallie + Stephen’s ceremony. Their family and loved ones were involved in bringing these two together as husband and wife.

After the ceremony we had a few minutes to spend time with Sallie + Stephen getting a few photos around the Chapel. I love their sweetness and sense of fun they have in each other! :)

Sallie + Stephen paid careful attention to the unifying details that brought their wedding day together.  Sallie took a huge hand in creating the vision of their day, working with vendors such as Etsy and Zazzle for their stationary, table numbers and dried flowers. Stephen is a nature lover and a hunter, and Sallie wanted to incorporate those themes into their wedding.  They decided upon a rustic theme with elements of antlers and florals to signify their coming together.  All the wooden decor was made by her brother, Chris, including the centerpiece and cake stands, as well as branches holding their seating cards. And of course there was an element of fun! A mixtape of some of their favorite songs was provided to guests, and they also left notebooks at each table asking guests to write notes they could read on their upcoming anniversaries!cmp_0272 cmp_0271 cmp_0270 cmp_0256 cmp_0257cmp_0326cmp_0327 cmp_0293

Sallie + Stephen shared a sweet first dance together…

Followed by a sweet dance with Sallie’s dad.cmp_0292

Of course it’s not a wedding without some toasts!cmp_0294 cmp_0295cmp_0329 cmp_0330 cmp_0298

Following the ceremony was a hula that Sallie performed! This was a surprise for Stephen and almost all of the wedding guests. The dance was incredibly moving and touching – I don’t think there was a single dry eye in the house afterwards!

Time to cut that beautiful naked cake!

Of course the reception was amazing!cmp_0313

The last song of the evening was, “(I’ve Had) The Time of My Life,” that’s right, from the amazing Dirty Dancing soundtrack. The evening ended with Stephen sweeping up Sallie in a lift! The crowd went wild!

I love that you took the time to get to know your clients so well and cared enough to tell their story. The rustic atmosphere of the day with elegant gold accents was stunning!
