Sometimes, as is the case with Angelique + Daniel, I meet the groom for the first time on his wedding day. There’s nothing I love more than hearing the story of how a couple met. While taking a few portraits of Daniel, he shared with me he wasn’t the type to seek out relationships. He and Angelique worked together, and during lunch he would typically eat by himself. Clearly Angelique saw something special in Daniel, and Angelique, being as sweet and friendly as she is, isn’t the type that I think anyone would ignore! :) Casual conversations turned into exchanging numbers; then dates; then a proposal; which took us to their beautiful Orange County wedding at the Aliso Viejo Country Club.
We started the day at the club, where it was drizzling outside mid-day. Daniel and his groomsmen stayed to one side of the club while Angelique and her bridesmaids, mother and mother-in-law got ready on the other side.
As a last-minute decision, the ceremony was moved indoors so as to be out of the rain. However, if there’s one thing I love, it’s window light! The change in venue didn’t seem to matter one bit to the bride and groom :)
Jennifer at Plumeria Cake Studio absolutely outdid herself with this gorgeous white cake! Isn’t it stunning? I love how the delicate layers and ruffles had the same feel as Angelique’s wedding dress.
I absolutely loved the mother-daughter dance! I haven’t seen this at a wedding before. It seems dads get the spotlight on the wedding day, but moms deserves it just as much! :) I love the sweet moments it showed between Angelique and Natalie.
Miracle of miracles, the weather cleared up and we were able to wander the golf course and spend some time getting portraits of Angelique + Daniel. We only had about 20 minutes before the sun went completely away, but were really able to take advantage of the grounds and get some beautiful images of the newlyweds!
Congratulations, Angelique + Daniel!
