When Annette of Events by Annette approached me about working with her for this Glen Ivy Golf Club wedding styled shoot, I was thrilled! Glen Ivy Golf Club is a gorgeous venue in Corona, California. Being in the Temecula area, it’s surrounded by hills and has a secluded feel while you’re on the course. The course itself is a photographer’s dream – lots of tunnels, waterfalls, trees and greenery to make wedding day images look stunning. We spent a few hours on a golf cart going out with the models and seeing all the course had to offer.
I’m a sucker for a cool tunnel! And this one backs up to a waterfall!
I LOVE this lush bouquet by Murrieta VIP Florist! It coordinated perfectly with our bride’s dress – which is a two piece, actually handmade by Annette! Her daughter wore this when she got married. The dimensional look of the skirt is my favorite!
Here’s a fun shot of Annette helping out – the best dress fluffer/golf cart driver there is! :)
We started this shoot in the late afternoon, so still a few hours before sunset. One of my favorite features of the course is that great photos can be created anywhere, no matter the time of day! There’s lots of trees, greenery and shade that create beautiful backdrops when shooting into direct sun. This is something I look for as a photographer – because if you’re shooting in the sun and there’s nothing to block the light, you get a blown-out background, and that’s just not my jam! Also many couples are facing a time crunch on their wedding day and have to complete portraits in a half an hour or so. I would feel complete confidence at Glen Ivy Golf Course knowing there are a variety of options to get amazing portraits in that short time!
It’s hard to pick a favorite part of the course – but I think this dramatic hill backing up to the waterfall is just breathtaking! And I ain’t mad at that backlight – not one bit! :)
Mountains, trees, AND a waterfall! I think this is the first time I’ve captured all 3 in one image :)
This was a completely random spot in the golf course, but the way the light was filtering through the trees was just gorgeous!
I really adore this dress by Jaime Elyse – the floaty sleeves and open back are just stunning!
Golden hour started as we approached a fenced portion of the course with wild grasses and large pine trees. Just love how these turned out!
We did some group shots near the end of our loop – this would be a fantastic area for bridal party shots!
The light was our friend and we ended our shoot against this beautiful water feature and the warm-hued mountains.
Such a fantastic time working with this team! I’m looking forward to shooting some beautiful weddings at Glen Ivy Golf Club next year!
