This month I’m starting a new series on my blog that is focused on Temecula wedding vendors! I’ve come to know a good deal of vendors personally in shooting weddings here in Temecula. This blog series is meant to help potential brides and grooms get to better know those they are considering for one of the most important days of their life. I’m excited to not only shed some more light on how fantastic these vendors are, but help couples get to know some of the best professionals in the industry! :)
This month I’m starting with Wiens Family Cellars. I have loved Wiens ever since I shot Claire + Michael’s wedding. The grounds are a wedding photographer’s dream, with gorgeous views of their lush vineyards, their Cellar and Barrel Rooms are ideal reception settings, and it goes without saying the food and wine are fabulous! Wiens is a family-owned winery, established in 2001, and currently produces 9,000 cases of wine per year. I love sparkling wine (bubbles!) and their Amour de L’Orange is one of my favorites!
As a wedding photographer, one of the keys to a wedding that runs smoothly is an experienced events team. The “Wiens Team” features four fantastic ladies that are experts at running over 125 events per year. Besides having a cumulative 30+ years experience in events, they are also a super fun crew to hang out with, as I discovered at our Temecula Valley Wedding Professionals networking meetings!
I recently spent some time at Wiens to not only get pictures of the team and the venue, but get some insight on wedding planning, trends, and their favorite Wiens wines!

What makes Wiens a great location for couples?
“Wiens Family Cellars is known for its exceptional service along with making all our couples feel like family. We really care about all of our couples and do everything we can to make sure their wedding is perfect.” Jaime
“Besides its beautiful geographical location and amazing wine, we have an incredibly friendly staff and we pride ourselves on our customer service.” Irena
“The friendly staff and superior wine and food quality!” Erica
“Wiens is located smack dab in the middle of Temecula’s lush wine country. Our winery is surrounded by thriving vineyards and blossoming orchards. We only do one wedding per day here at Wiens which gives the couples a more exclusive, intimate feel. We offer two outdoor ceremony and reception areas and two indoor reception areas, one includes an intimate Cellar Room for up to 50 guests. We also offer our couples two getting ready suites on site so they can relax and enjoy themselves on their wedding day. ” Christine

What are couples surprised and/or excited to find out about when they are considering booking their wedding at Wiens?
“Our wedding packages here at Wiens are pretty straight forward and we try not to make things too confusing for our couples. Our packages contain most standard rentals and set up for their ceremony, cocktail hour and reception. Some of my favorite inclusions include their choice of 45 different colors of linens, silver or gold chargers, a variety of votive candle holders, free flowing champagne and stationed appetizers for cocktail hour, craft beer from our brewery and professional coordination. There are no hidden fees either, so we don’t charge extra for the venue or cake cutting.” Christine
“They get excited that they will be the only wedding here on their day. We only do one wedding per day and that exclusiveness and attention they receive on their day makes Wiens an exciting place to get married.” Jaime
“One wedding a day is a plus! Our couples appreciate that Wiens is a family owned AND operated company. They can stop by any day of the week and be greeted by a family member. Having a craft brewery is also a game changer for a lot of grooms as well.” Erica
“Most couples don’t realize that we have our own brewing company and get excited when they we tell them they can include beer for their reception. In addition to that we offer lots of services that are already included in our packages (no hidden fees) such as a bridal and grooms suite for the couple to get ready in the day of the wedding and an in-house coordinator to help them through the planning process!” Irena
Erica Ryberg- Event Coordinator
What are your most-loved services that you provide to couples on their wedding day?
“Our tasting dinners! A few times a season we host dinners here at the winery for upcoming Wiens couples to taste the food. We showcase different vendors and trends of the season. We like to make it as close to a cocktail hour and reception as possible since their day will most likely be chaotic.” Erica
“I think it’s all about the little things… like the ‘Future Mrs…’ signs we put on the bridal suits door before the bride arrives.” Irena
“We go above and beyond for every couple that books their wedding with us. The most loved services we provide the day of include use of the comfortable suites to get ready in and freshen up in during the wedding, complete set up service including setting out our couple’s décor including favors, place cards, and special décor, and special attention to the couple and bridal party.” Jaime
“I would say our most-loved service would be our warm, friendly and caring customer service. Since we are a family run and operated business we like to treat our clients like family. We want to make sure on a wedding day that not only are the bride and groom taken care of but Mom, Dad, Aunt Sue and their little cousin Bobbie are treated special also. I feel like we take care of a lot of their set up so the couple doesn’t need to have to worry about that stress when they should be spending time with their family and friends.” Christine
For brides “on a budget” that want to get married at Wiens, what do you offer or suggest?
“Wiens is so naturally beautiful, expensive décor is not needed to have a gorgeous wedding. The vineyard, landscaping, and view are all included and add so much to the wedding. We also provide quite a bit in our packages including a coordinator who will be able to help with more ideas for ways to stick to the budget.” Jaime
“Talking with your vendors may give couples some great ideas. For example, most florists might recommend reusing the bridesmaid bouquets for reception decor.” Irena
“We offer pre- and day-of coordination, custom menu cards and table numbers, and an assortment of different signage and decor. I would suggest to a bride on a budget to use her connections and most importantly ASK FOR HELP! Utilizing her bridal party for any last-minute projects on anything will save time and money. They can be your best workers and will be happy to help!” Erica
“For brides that are ‘on a budget’ I would suggest to them if they can’t afford a $2,000 florist bill to incorporate lots of candles. Candles can be so romantic and elegant especially in our Cellar Room that is filled with stainless steel tanks and oak barrels. Another suggestion would be to utilize any florals they use during the ceremony for the reception. That beautiful floral spray on the arbor can make for a great stand out piece on their sweetheart table!” Christine
Irena Sheffield – Event Coordinator
What wedding trends do you see Wiens brides and grooms utilizing?
“Lawn games and different table arrangements outside the normal round table setup.” Irena
“I love seeing greenery being showcased throughout a wedding. Hanging greenery from our chandeliers or on the backs of the chairs is such a fun way to incorporate Pantone’s color of the year, greenery.” Christine
“Donut walls!” Erica
“Couples have been including ‘extras’ such as vintage rentals, specialty photo booths, espresso bars, and late night snacks in their wedding for that extra special personal touch.” Jaime
What is your process in working with a couple before and on their wedding day?
“Getting to know the couple in their first meeting is a key for me. Asking them about how they met, what’s important for them on their wedding day, what they are most excited about, etc. I think it’s important to try to relate to the couple which will make them more comfortable. From there making sure to keep note of every detail to make their event a success.” Irena
“We provide lots of hands-on help with our couples and their families. We offer a full time coordinator to help with the planning process before and during their wedding day. We will meet with them a handful of times to go over all of their details, provide vendor recommendations, set a timeline for the day and answer any questions they have. On the day of their wedding there are two coordinators taking care of most of their set-up so the Bride and Mom can relax and then their coordinator is able to stay throughout the entire reception to ensure the timeline stays on track and their décor gets packed up. I think this aspect of our wedding package really makes Wiens stand out from other wedding venues.” Christine
“We meet with our couples through as many details meeting as it takes to go over bridal party, timeline, linens, decor, vendors, and food choices. We conduct their rehearsal and see them throughout their entire event and cleanup.” Erica
I was able to head out to the Wiens vineyard to get some pictures of the entire crew!
What is your favorite Wiens wine?
“That’s hard to say! I love them all but my favorite is our Grand Rouge.” Jaime
“Our Amour De L’Orange champagne is my favorite!” Christine
“Chateau Grand Rouge!” Erica
I also had the opportunity to photograph Wiens’ bride and groom suites while on site. They’ve taken a lot of care in making these suites comfortable for their couples, not to mention the decor! As a photographer, I’m always thrilled when my couples are getting ready in rooms with window light :)
I love their Cellar Room! It’s the perfect setting for an intimate reception :)
Having personally worked with the team at Wiens, I can’t more highly recommend their services for a Temecula wedding! The staff, grounds and every aspect of their service is top-notch. Lots of happy brides and grooms can be found here every weekend! :)
